Gratitude for the Little Things

Over at People for Others, Paul Campbell, SJ, is hosting a Week of Gratitude this week. The theme is gratitude for the little things in life, and contributing writers include Ginny Kubitz Moyer, Matt Weber, Mark E. Thibodeaux, SJ, Julianne Stanz, and Joe Paprocki.

First up is Moyer’s contribution. She’s grateful for imagination, as many of us who respond to Ignatian prayer are.

What are you grateful for today?

  1. I am grateful for all the love that people shower upon me, also for the wonderful parents and life that i have had.
Most of all I am grateful for the love that GOD has given me

  2. I am thankful for all the wild life that comes to my feeding stations!Deer, Turkey, squirrels, all types of bird, some birds of prey, all come to our 11 acres of no-hunting for a good rest and some play! Thank you God!

  3. I’m thankful for spring flowers. I take Communion weekly to a local retirement home to a group of 6-8 people.
I took a bouquet of lilacs from my garden so I could give each person a stem to enjoy in their own apartments.
As soon as I entered the lobby people began making comments about my lilacs so I took a moment to let several
see the bouquet up close and smell the wonderful scent. Everyone in my Communion group was so thankful.
After that I had 4 stems left over so I took them back to the lobby and gave them away. Thank you, God, for the
beauty and scent of your spring flowers that we all enjoy so much!!

  4. I am grateful for the song sparrow sing just outside my door. He pauses just long enough to get another lung full of air to sing his song to the world. I wonder how something so small can bring such a joyous song for us to hear! Thank You Lord of Heaven and Earth for the little ones!!!!

  5. I’grateful for the new growth in my newly planted veggie garden. This is only the second year I’ve had a garden, and it’s wonderful seeing “nature” grow as I watch. Praise God!
