These are just a few of the stories presented in Loyola Press’s Food and Faith, a new series that celebrates the many ways Catholics express their faith through the culinary arts.
The series covers a wide scope of the personal and public ways faith is shared through food. We hope these 30+ stories inspire you to tap your own talents to express your faith through cooking, baking, gardening, harvesting memories, or simply enjoying good food with great company. I am neither a chef nor a Jesuit, but I have found Godde in my kitchen for quite a while now, in my kitchen and in the garden as well. I have a hunch Jesus liked both in his time and so I am not surprised to find him next to me 🙂
You know while I always thank God as I stuff pasta laden spaghetti squash into my face or inhale Spanish chicken and sausage stew or the odd striploin steak sandwich I never thought of that as encountering God — even though I’m sure he has to smile as he watches me enjoy his bounties formed into my culinary-creations.
As well I’m interesting in learning how the cafe crew keeps their old buddies at bay.
