Days of Deepening Friendship

My friend Vinita Wright is having a great time with her re-launched blog Days of Deepening Friendship.  The theme of DDF is “women growing wiser.”  Vinita is building a lively online community with discussions of the spiritual issues women face as they move through life’s natural seasons.

Here’s what she said this week about those pesky interruptions that are so annoying:

Interruptions are life. The unexpected is simply the life you have but don’t yet know about. The wise woman accepts that reality. What does she do with the unexpected, the disruption, the unwelcome call or caller? She engages with it, with everything she has. She looks for the layer of grace and God-ness that is always there, somewhere and somehow. She pays attention and looks for the wisdom waiting to be tapped in the day that has suddenly changed direction.

Drop in and join the conversation.

  1. Interruptions are life in reality. Yes, we need to deal with them as the come throughout the busy daily (routine) day. The number of unwelcome calls, unknown persons coming to our home etc. etc. I pay close attention to this; and the reason why is that, at times, someone you know is in need for you to hear out some kind of sad situation/problem facing. I ask God to grace me with patience to go through my day. I have an elderly and ill mother I care at home. I am grateful I can help her and spend quality and spiritual time listening to the Word of God. I must thank the Lord and His Holy Spirit for allowing me to do this. Thank you.

    • Beautiful..Elizabeth..I felt so satisfied and grateful imagining an old lady being taken care of by her daughter .do take good care of your health ,so that you can multitask..when I did something like this ..I used to get exhausted very quickly..may be because that time I had a little toddler boy with me too..dear Elizabeth you are in my prayers today.

  2. I’d love to join in that conversation. Interruptions are indeed life. I always find it inspiring and enlightening when what I think about are written in words so eloquent and awakening.
