A Millennial Milestone

Yesterday’s post by Andy Otto was the 1000th post on this blog.  I’ve always been underwhelmed by “longevity” honors.  Sticking around doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re interesting or useful.  But in the fast-changing world of cyberspace, keeping a blog going this long is something to note and maybe be at least a little proud of.  Thousands visit this website every month. Several thousand of you have subscribed to the dotMagis e-mail feed.  (Click on the envelope to the right if you’d like to do that.)  So kudos to us for sticking around, but more importantly, thanks to you for reading.

I enjoy posting here. Writing for dotMagis keeps me in touch with Ignatian spirituality,  the dynamic spiritual force that continues to change the world.  I wrote the first post, “Welcome to dotMagis,” on April 30, 2009.  Today, a thousand posts later, the six dotMagis bloggers–plus Paul Campbell, SJ, Denise Gorss, Ray Ives, Rosemary Lane, and the rest of the Loyola Press web team–say thanks to all of you who like this stuff as much as we do.
