A Penance for Lent

Matt Spotts, SJ, went to confession. Here’s his penance: “For the rest of Lent, take 5 minutes every day – just 5 minutes – and just enjoy God.”

Let’s all do that.

  1. I come from the old school where you were required to “give up” things. No one ever said anything about spending Lent “giving” things. I’m all for this 5 mintues with God. If I give him me, guess how much I will get in return. It will be a pleasure to enjoy God, and I’m not “giving Him up.” Thanks for this. It’s great, and I will be using it in my next 3rd grade Catechism class. How lovely!!!
