Best Ignatian Songs: Tears of God

by Jim Manney

Much of the music from the rock-blues-R&B band Los Lobos derives from Mexican Catholic culture.  Check out the picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe behind the band at 1:06 in the video of this concert.  The song is “Tears of God.”  It’s a melancholy song, about where suffering people can find comfort.

You’ll find out true
What mother said to you
The tears of God will show you the way
The way to turn

Lyrics here. (Go here if you can’t see the video.)
