Best Ignatian Songs: Give Me Love

The Ignatian song this week is a ditty called “Give Me Love” by the Beatle George Harrison.  It’s a simple song. The words are not especially deep, but I like the twangy guitar and the upbeat cheer  Give me love–a very Ignatian prayer.   It makes me smile. Here’s a live performance by Harrison.

  1. Best Ignatian Song? Interesting question. Off the top of my head, I’d say “What a Wonderful World” by Louie Armstrong. Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” would be up there. Several by Stan Rogers would make my list, e.g., “The House of Orange,” “Lies” and “Field Behind the Plow.” The old Tom Paxton song “The Marvelous Toy” would make my list also. Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water” too. Gotta think some more about this. Peace – Rick
