Best Ignatian Songs: You Are Not Alone

I like this song, the singer (Mavis Staples), and the acoustic accompaniment by Jeff Tweedy, who wrote it.  (Tweedy is also the lead singer of Wilco.)

A broken home

A broken heart

Isolated and afraid

Open up this is a raid

I wanna get it through to you

You’re not alone.

Lyrics here. Thanks to Rosemary Lane for the pointer.  (Click here to watch it on YouTube.)

  1. Thank you for helping me see God’s will for me. I needed to step back from my parish community, this created many negative feelings for me. with the help of Ignatian spiritual direction, I am able to humbly step back and not feel alone. God gave me your song to show me that I am not alone when I do His will.
