Fr. Joseph Tetlow, SJ, responds to the question, “What hints can you give us for understanding Jesus’ human experience through prayer?”
He offers three pieces of advice in answer:
- Read and re-read the Gospels.
- Know that the Holy Spirit is active in the Gospels and in our hearts, helping us to understand what the Gospels are.
- Remember that you’re thinking about Jesus’ experience. The experience of a human is the experience of our head, our heart, and what we are doing.
