I’ve read much about Pedro Arrupe, the legendary superior general of the Jesuits from 1965-83. Much of his greatness seems to have resided in his charisma. People loved him and wanted to follow him–much like I imagine Ignatius to have been. A new video produced to mark the 20th anniversary of Arrupe’s death this month captures this quality of the man very well. It’s a remembrance by Vincent O’Keefe, SJ, who worked closely with him, along with some fine archival footage. (If you can’t see the video, click here.)
